This house was designed, as a second home, for a professional couple from Denver who have been visiting Steamboat for over forty years. Planning ahead for their retirement years, they wanted an elevator, no floor height changes within each level and wide doorways to make the house wheel chair accessible.
This is a very energy efficient house with European windows and added insulation throughout. There are exceptional views in all directions of the Flattops, Sleeping Giant and the iconic Steamboat Barn. A triangular pop out from the two master bedrooms provides views of Mount Werner to the northeast. A floating stair and offset tile flooring creates a stunning visual impact upon entering the house. There are two outdoor living areas. The larger of the two faces southwest to take advantage of cooler spring and fall days. A custom stone exterior fireplace adds extra warmth to those chilly days and nights. The second deck faces northwest to provide a bit more shade on those sunny summer days. Wood floors, exposed wood trusses. textured walls and ceilings, custom walnut cabinets, eight foot high three panel beech doors, along with high end appliances and plumbing fixtures all add up to a warm, contemporary interior.
