Tamarack Duplex - Steamboat Springs, Colorado

I was presented with a very tight site which was zoned for three duplex buildings. The only way I could pack in all the amenities he owners wanted was to limit the circulation space to a minimum. Fortunately, the site had just enough slope to enable me to use the stairs to split the levels front to back and eliminate hallways. I used an eight foot offset, combined with changing roof slopes to create visual interest to the exterior. Some bold colors did not hurt, either. The interior has three bedrooms, great room with kitchen and a lower level entertainment area.
